Welcome to Little Farm in the Dell!

We are a small developing hobby farm nestled on 275 acres in the foothills of the Catskills in a small town called Worcester NY.  We moved here in the summer of 2014 and fell in love with the beautiful vistas and the abundant wildlife this gorgeous slice of heaven has to offer. Our children were raised in Niskayuna NY where we lived on small half acre plot in the middle of suburbia.  The change of scenery convinced us that life was moving a bit too fast so when we found this opportunity we decided to uproot our suburban life and move to the country.

Timothy Rutland was born in Cooperstown and grew up right down the road in Otego. His love of the outdoors lead him to scouting, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is an avid sports (football) fan and still tries to get outdoors boating, camping, and BBQing as often as possible. He loves his pets, especially his black lab Huckleberry. Tim's vision includes building Little Farm in the Dell into a concierge camping and music venue, complete with the stage, amphitheater, and facilities. He's excited to have you visit and share in what Little Farm in the Dell has to offer.

Holly Rutland was born in Schenectady , NY.  She is a proud mom of three young men ,  2 Eagle Scouts and one successful business man.  She has taught elementary school for the past 27 years.  She has degrees in Special Education, Elementary Education and Reading.  Growing up in the suburbs she was thrilled with the move to the country.  The beautiful scenery and outdoor activities excites her.  Her hobbies include visiting her goats, tending her garden , or riding on a four wheeler.  She can not imagine ever living anywhere but in the country again.  She has always had a love for animals and a dream of living on a farm.  This finally came true a few years ago and she is excited to share her land with you.

Jake Rutland graduated from Niskayuna High School in 2014. There he enjoyed being part of the high school football and track teams. Throughout his time at school he put countless time and effort into moving up the ranks with The Boy Scouts of America. Received the highest honor of Eagle Scout in his senior year. After he graduated he studied animal science at SUNY Cobleskill. During this time his love for working with animals grew and he landed a job on a dairy farm in Laurens NY. Milking 150 cows a night he couldn't get enough. Soon our family started caring for our own little farm. Recently, he has started Freedom Fare Pastures, a Pasture Poultry Farm right here at Little Farm In The Dell! While taking care of Little Farm in the Dell and Freedom Fare Pastures, Jake works full time as a Store Manager for Dollar General in Middleburgh NY.

Zach Rutland graduated from Worcester Central School in 2017.  He is currently employed by the local Stewarts and is striving for a Management position. He hopes to build the family farm and Agritourism.  Zach received his Eagle scout his Senior year of High School and is interested in becoming a merit badge counselor for several different merit badges.
